HomeExperiencesExperience castle life with Countess Jeanne de Merode in Westerlo
Westerlo
Westerlo
Once upon a time, there was a quaint hostel on the edge of a forest where an old forest ranger used to live. A place where children now play, gnomes live and dolls can talk.
Westerlo
Step inside the neo-Gothic castle of Countess Jeanne de Merode in Westerlo and travel back to a time of elegance and grandeur. Built between 1909 and 1912, the castle exudes the charm of a bygone era and gives a unique glimpse into the noblewoman’s life.
For children, the visit is extra special: they can dress up as an architect, maid or countess and truly step into castle life. A dress-up trunk full of historical outfits makes history tangible and fun. An interactive tour ties it all together, inviting both young and old to discover the castle’s stories.
