Winter in Ghent: from ice rink to Winter Wonder Castle

Ghent’s Winter Festival runs from December 4th to December 31st, 2025, with a wide variety of festive stalls. Last year, you had to skate on roller skates, but this year real ice is back under your feet! Show off your skating moves at Emile Braun Square, then warm up with a drink at the après-skate bar next to the rink.
Don’t miss the enchanting lights at Gravensteen Castle, transformed for the occasion into the “Winter Wonder Castle.” And the biggest attraction (literally)? The giant Ferris wheel, offering magnificent views over the historic city center.
